{PRETITLE} Pinwheel Designs {POSTTITLE}

This book of designs has been a great (and surprising!) way to open up my husband's creativity. He agreed to try coloring one of the designs and it turned out so beautiful, he is now working on completing the whole book. The spaces in this one are large enough and not too flowery-feminine for a guy to color. These books have turned into a relaxing and fun pastime for us both. They're a great way for people who consider themselves artistically challenged to see how creative they can be with color. A little success goes a long way!

This is one of the better teen to adult coloring books, but I have to say, I enjoy it most for the ideas that I develop using color patterns and designs with my own art (mosaics, jewelry, painting, collage, felting). When I received this book, I had to immediately try one with a color pattern that "spoke" to me. I also had to select two more with two other color selections specifically fitting the design. I have to say that the artist, Wil Stegenga, has provided some of the better coloring/art pattern books with a modern flair that I like. PS: Recommend you use hard to medium colored pencils to adequately fill the images. Larger and softer pencils may work for some images, but for details the other type of pencils work best (e.g. Primacolor Verithin pencils).
